MASON CITY, IA – The Northeast Community College volleyball team found success here last night, sweeping North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in three sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-10).

Monique Schafer led the Hawks with 13 kills, 11 digs and three ace serves. Taylor Lammers put up one solo block and two assist blocks, and Samantha Brester had one solo block and one assist block. Delaney Belt recorded four ace serves, and Savannah Nelson led assists with 26.

Northeast (12-9) will compete in the Central Community College tournament in Columbus this weekend. On Friday, they will face Cowley County Community College at 1 p.m. and Bismarck State College at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the Hawks square off against Fort Scott Community College at 3 p.m. and Kansas City Kansas Community College at 5 p.m.
