Heimes takes first as Hawks win Northeast Triangular

NORFOLK – Freshman Ty Heimes (Battle Creek, Neb.) has had his best week of golf so far this season for the Northeast Community College men’s golf team.

 

After taking third-place at the Midland Oakland Invite, Heimes took first at the Northeast Triangular on Wednesday at the Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk. The Hawks finished with a team score of 297.

 

Heimes carded a 3-under par 69 for the Hawks. Matthew Kingston (Springfield, Neb.) took fourth with a 76, while Jordan Hart (Omaha, Neb.) placed fifth with a 76. Grant Sell (Gothenburg, Neb.) shot a 77 to finish in a tie for sixth-place, Jacob Lingenfelter (Plainview, Neb.) shot an 80 to take eighth and Dawson Sundsted (Spearfish, S.D.) carded an 82 to tie for ninth.

 

Rounding out the Hawks scoring, Hunter Goehring (Elk Point, S.D.) tied for 11th-place with an 83, John Lapour (Omaha, Neb.) also shot an 83 to tie with Goehring. Gabriel Pfeifer (Madison, Neb.) hit an 89, good for 17th-place.

 

The Hawks compete in The Nebraska Intercollegiate at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Norfolk Country Club.
