FORT DODGE, Iowa – With the game tied at 54, the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team couldn’t muster any offense in the final quarter, falling to North Iowa Area Community College 79-68 Friday in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

It was a back-and-forth affair for much of the contest, but it was the Hawks who tallied 23 points in the third quarter to tie the game heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Trojans tallied 25 points compared to 13 by the Hawks to put the game out of reach.

Teagan Pompa of Elgin, Ill. led the Hawks off the bench with 15 points, including five 3-pointers. Eriana Brown of Des Moines, Iowa and Kyla Moore of Norfolk had 13 points each in the loss.

Northeast will compete in the Iowa Western Classic on Friday and Saturday, squaring off with Labette Community College at 1 p.m., Friday, before taking on New Mexico Junior College at 1 p.m., Saturday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
