Several of Nebraska’s college students traveled to the Gallup Campus in Omaha, Nebraska, to Create, lead, and Inspire as they participated in the Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference hosted by Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). Six students and one faculty member attended from Northeast Community College.

The conference was held November 1 and 2, 2018. Participants from across the state attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and learn from many area business professionals. Thursday evening the group started in Gretna, Nebraska, where they learned from Ms. Johanna Boston, Chief Marketing Officer for the Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall. They dined at the LOCAL restaurant which donated a portion of the proceeds that evening back to Nebraska PBL.

Alec Gorynski provided the keynote address Friday morning during the opening session. Gorynski is Vice President of Community Development and Corporate Philanthropy from First National Bank. His presentation was entitled, “Doing Great by Doing Good – Being a Part of a Socially Responsible Company.” Upon conclusion of the opening session, students had the opportunity to focus on topics related to technology, public relations, and leadership programs and resources.

The ever-popular networking luncheon included 19 business professionals. Individuals were from Gallup, Tabitha, Cognitive Clinical Trials, Conagra, INSPRO Insurance, Sandhills Publishing, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, First State Insurance Agency, Valmont Industries, and Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska.

Upon conclusion of lunch, a business panel and tour of Gallup rounded out the day.
