Last week, some Week of Welcome events that were held included Blacklight Bingo on Tuesday and the Monday Night at the Movies.  From 8 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday in the Student Center lower level, 229 students enjoyed a high-energy game of bingo with black lights and loud music.  Phone wallets and over $700 worth of groceries were handed out as prizes.  “Deadpool 2” was Monday’s movie, and 197 eager students showed up to watch.
The Welcome Back Picnic with inflatables held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. was another great WOW event.
Held behind the Lifelong Learning Center (LLC), it attracted over 740 students, as well as a large number of family members and staff.  Free food and inflatables were offered to all who attended, and the first 300 students who came with their Northeast IDs received Wacky Wednesday shirts.
Following the Welcome Back Picnic was the Root Beer Kegger on Thursday.  From 3 to 4 p.m. at Paradise Courtyard behind the Welcome Center, students were asked to come and meet with over 23 clubs that are on campus.  Free shirts were given to the first 250 students who had their Northeast IDs, and root beer floats were also handed out.
Further events can be found on the Fall 2018 Student Activities Schedule, which is posted on the Northeast Community College Student Activities Council (SAC) Facebook page.
