Medel Signs With Northeast’s Soccer Program

NORFOLK – Northeast Community College’s new women’s soccer team had landed another local recruit. Erika Medel, Norfolk, has signed with the Hawks to play this fall.
Medel has been a member of the Norfolk Senior High soccer team during all four years of high school.
“Erika is another great recruit from the local area,” said Chad Miller, Northeast coach. “She will give us a boost on the offensive side of the ball. Erika has good speed, a great shot, and an athleticism about her that will cause problems for defenders. She is a very good addition to women’s soccer here at Northeast.”
Medel has played four years at Norfolk, including this season. She has scored 12 goals for the Panthers and has earned three player of the week honors. She was named to the 2015 Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference All Conference team and the state honorable mention team in 2014. Medel, who also earned the most improved player award, has five years playing experience in Express Soccer.
Medel will join teammates Saige Hollum, Erika Kumm and Zoe Serres, Norfolk, and Baylee Stockwell, Columbus, on the Hawks’ squad.
