Local Bank Donate Money to O’Neill Campus Expantion

The Tri-County Bank contributes $50,000 to Northeast Community College’s O’Neill campaign

STUART – An independently-owned bank that has been serving North Central Nebraska since 1945 has made a generous contribution to a campaign for a new Northeast Community College extended campus in O’Neill.

The Tri-County Bank has donated $50,000 toward a $2.5 million capital campaign to construct the new extended campus. “We believe our support of the extended campus is consistent with our value system. The dedication of our time, talent, and treasure was a natural but critical decision for us,” said Jon D. Schmaderer of Stuart, president/CEO of The Tri-County Bank. “We hope that our support of the project will help others understand its importance and will lead to the greater community providing additional financial support to this endeavor.”

The new Northeast extended campus, to be located on the east edge of O’Neill on Highway 275, will offer more than what is available at the current location at 409 East Adams Street. The 1938 former elementary school building’s infrastructure is outdated with inadequate plumbing, electrical and heating and ventilation systems and the upper level of the facility is not handicap accessible.  Since the building continues to be used for a number of public activities, security of the building and equipment is also a concern.
