Iowa Western hands Northeast men third conference loss

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Backed by a 50-point performance in the first half, followed by 52 points in the second half, the Iowa Western Community College men’s basketball team toppled the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team 102-67 Saturday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Ben Moxness (Scribner, Neb.) led the Hawks with 20 points and five rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, while Caleb Rihanek (Spencer, Neb.) had 16 points and six boards. Joel Ufele (London, United Kingdom) chipped in 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in the loss.
The Hawks (9-10, 0-3 ICCAC) were held to 35 percent shooting from the field.
Northeast takes on Hastings College JV for a 7 p.m. tip tonight at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
