Hawks finish 1-1 on Minnesota trip

ST. PAUL, MN – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team went 1-1 on a weekend road trip in Minnesota.
On Saturday, the Hawks fell to Central Lakes College, 78-77. Northeast trailed by ten at halftime. Late in the second half, Northeast led by one point before Keonte Jenkins nailed two free throws to regain the lead for Central Lakes and take the game.
Allen Anderson lead the Hawks with 20 points, going 6-6 from the line. Melkisedek Moreaux netted 17 points and eleven rebounds. Steve Wooten finished with 14 points and six boards.
In its second game of a three-game road trip, the Hawks dismantled the St. Thomas University JV, 88-53, to win its fifth game of the season.
Wooten lead the Hawks with 23 points and twelve rebounds. Moreaux chipped in 21 points and seven boards as well. Anderson finished with 14 points and five boards in the win.
The Hawks (5-3) will finish up its Minnesota road trip tonight in Worthington, MN, in a contest against Minnesota West at 7 pm. Northeast will be back in action at home on Tuesday when it hosts Southeast Community College at the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
