Tori Chrisman started at Northeast Community College in the Fall of 2016 and took a student worker job as a new Student Assistant (SA). “After moving here from Iowa and without knowing anyone within 50 miles I thought it would be a great way to meet new people,” said Chrisman. After a semester Chrisman had established an initiative to do more with the team and for the college so applied to become an Resident Assistant (RA). After interviewing many candidates for the job, Chrisman was offered an RA position.

“Often a freshman SA will not be offered an RA position until they have felt that they have enough experience and dedication to the job. After the interview, they felt I could take on a much more responsible role in the college”, Chrisman said. She continued showing her commitment to the team and her skills as a RA. That resulted in the election by her peers to be the president of the RA/SA team in the fall, 2017 semester.

Tori is continuing her work as the RA/SA president. She plans to go on to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where she wants to continue being an RA.
