Academic Integrity Week on Northeast Campus

The Northeast Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter is hosting Academic Integrity Week. Daily events will create multiple opportunities for conversation and reflection about what it means to behave in an ethical and honest manner. These conversations will encompass integrity in all aspects of the student’s life: academic, professional, civic, and personal.
· Monday Oct 2nd – 9am-3pm – Path Hall
o Academic Integrity Week Kick Off: Informational Booth
§ Raise the awareness about the Student Conduct process and Academic Integrity Week. Encourage students to be honest both inside and outside the classroom. PTK members will be distributing information that highlights the definitions of academic dishonesty, the sanctions for committing academic dishonesty, the common myths associated with academic dishonesty, tips to avoid academic dishonesty, the campus resources available to act in an honest way, and how to navigate a job search in an ethical manner. Academic Integrity T-shirts will be given away to students who come by the booth. Drawing- $30 gift certificate
· Tuesday Oct 3rd – 7pm – Library
o Cite Night
§ Phi Theta Kappa members will team up with the librarians in order to talk to students about strategies for improving writing. This group will provide information about research practices and strategies that can help students avoid plagiarizing sources. There will be snacks and a drawing for a $30 gift certificate.
· Wednesday Oct 4th – 8-10 am and 1-3 pm Cash Cart
o “Did You Know?” Jeopardy Edition
§ Phi Theta Kappa members will team up with the Student Leadership Team to host a Jeopardy themed game show; in order to inform students about having academic integrity and what it means to be a student of honor.

o Honor the Code Scavenger Hunt
§ How much do students know about the Student Code of Conduct? Students will participate in a Scavenger Hunt around campus to test their knowledge, learn new facts, and to earn cool prizes.

Post Production 3 students Adam Lundeen and Tim Johnson interviewed staff and PTK members and created this video to focus on what academic integrity means to college students and life.
