PANORA, IA – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Region XI Preview at Lake Panorama National Golf Club here Monday, finishing sixth after the two-day tournament.
Kirkwood Community College took first place with a two-day total of 589. Waldorf University took second with 613, while Iowa Lakes Community College (618), Iowa Central Community College (618) and Des Moines Area Community College (625) rounded out the top five. Northeast finished with a two-day total of 640.
Kirkwood’s Louis Flynn took medalist honors with a 144, while Carson Whittington, also of Kirkwood, was two strokes back.
For Northeast, Michael Brockhaus and Preston Peters tied for 12th with a 154. Tyler Louis fired a 167, Dalton Lammers shot 168, and Stephen GrandPre, 171. Competing as individuals, Cody Steuter tied for 12th with 154, and Chase Hopper took 25th with a 158.
The Hawks next turn their attention to the Midland Invite on Saturday, April 30, at the Oakland Golf Club in Oakland. Tee time is 10 a.m.
