Are you interested in joining the brand new dance team next semester? Well if you are you’re in luck! Men and women can both join the dance team. It is recommended to have previous dance experience but anyone can fill out an application and tryout.  Tryouts will be held on Saturday, April 2nd from 9 am to 5 pm. There will be five judges coming in from others towns to select the 15 dance members. Those participating will be judged on ability to learn choreography, jumps, kicks, spins, leadership abilities, and academic achievements.

Newly appointed dance coach, Amanda Avidano says, “We will perform at half-time for volleyball, basketball, and soccer games. We will do a variety of dance routines, including jazz, pom, and hip hop. As a coach, I encourage students to work while in school. Practices will be flexible around dancer’s schedules. Performances are mandatory unless the coach is notified in advance. Schedule for next fall will be determined at a later date.”

Northeast used to have the Jazz Hawks dance team but they stopped performing over ten years ago.
