Hawks Win Over Iowa Central In Women’s Basketball

NORFOLK – Raven Murray scored 24 points to lead Northeast Community College to a 90-78 win over Iowa Central Community College here Tuesday. Murray also had nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block for the 8-2 Hawks. She was 3-3 from three-point range.
Northeast was only up by three points at halftime, 42-39, but a strong third quarter helped propel the Hawks with the victory, leading at one point by 20 points.
Maeva Kitantou finished with 23 points, six assists, five rebounds, and three steals for Northeast; Francesca Minali had eleven points and eight rebounds; Sydney Koel scored ten points and had six rebounds; and Hannah Riley contributed nine points. Brooke Bauer had six points, Ceara Leavai, five points, and Pip Armitage, two.
Anna Yung led Iowa Central with 22 points.
Northeast will be in action next on Tuesday as it hosts the Midland University JV in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk. Game time is 6 p.m.
