October 30, 2015
There was a record breaking crowd for the Spooktacular on Wednesday, October 28th. Parents and children attended the fun event at the Ag Complex on the Northeast Community College campus.
This is the 13th annual Spooktacular that has taken place in Norfolk. Spooktacular is sponsored by the Northeast Student Ambassadors and Student Activities Council. There were nearly 30 games and activities for children to enjoy. Booths were hosted with the help of seventeen student clubs. Every game required tickets, which were four for $1.
The Vet Tech Club hosted a petting zoo during the event. Holding a petting zoo helped the students in the club get more hands on with animals and also let children have their own hands on fun. Another booth was hosted by Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) their booth offered pop ring toss, spin the wheel, and spider toss. Student clubs benefit from events such as this one, which allows them to receive an amount from each ticket sold.
