Hawks Fall To Iowa Lakes 8-2
October 20, 2015
NORFOLK – Despite being down 3-0 at the half, the Northeast Community College soccer team couldn’t stop an aggressive offense by Iowa Lakes Community College here Saturday and fell to the Lakers, 8-2.
“Iowa Lakes outplayed us from the start. I didn’t feel we played all that terrible, it was more the lack of mental focus,” said Chad Miller, Northeast coach. “We have a habit of giving up goals at the beginning or end of halves, or in bunches. Almost every game this happens. Many of their scores occurred just minutes apart.”
The Lakers outshot the Hawks 23-10 and led in shots on goals, 15-8.
Geremy Dable and Juan Alvarado had Northeast goals while Nathan Broekemeier had ten saves.
Miller said, “We have two more games left in the season so I hope we can get back to playing more competitive soccer.”
Northeast will host North Iowa Area Community College on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfo
