Northeast Falls To Central In Three Hard Fought Sets

COLUMBUS – The Northeast Community College volleyball team tested #9 Central Community College here Wednesday in a hard fought, three set match, but the Raiders prevailed 25-23, 26-24 and 25-16.

“We started off very well and led most of the first set until the last five points,” said Amanda Schultze, Hawks coach. “We made some errors, but we just couldn’t pull ourselves out of it.”

Courtni Kunz led the #17 Hawks with ten kills, while Taryn Luedtke had nine. Bridget Schneider finished with 22 digs and 30 assists; Meagan Backer recorded 26 digs; Kelsey Shoemaker had four assist blocks and Rachel Brandl registered two ace serves.

Northeast travels to Estherville, IA, tonight for a match against Iowa Lakes Community College beginning at 7 p.m.
