Students, faculty, staff, and community are welcome at Northeast Community College’s First Annual Arts Night on April 22, 2015. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in Hawk’s Landing and is free to the public. You can share your original poetry, fiction, stories, scripts, and music. You can also enter artwork but please bring something to display it on. The Creative Writing Department will also unveil Voices Out of Nowhere, 2015, a compilation of student work: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, artwork, and photography and awards will be given to the winners. Northeast has been publishing students’ stories and art for over 40 years.

When asked about the reason for the First Annual Arts Night, English Instructor and coordinator Bonnie Johnson-Bartee said, “I want students to get recognition for their submissions, want arts and creativity to be celebrated, and want a public debut for Voices Out of Nowhere, 2015 – so what better way than to put it all together!? By including the public, we promote our programs at Northeast and increase awareness of the importance and contribution of arts in our community.”
