ANKENY, IA – The Northeast Community College golf team stands in third place after day one of the Iowa Central Community College Invitational here. The Hawks shot 312, six shots behind leader Iowa Central with 306. North Iowa Area Community College is second at 308 in the seven team field.

Individually, Northeast’s Preston Peters is one of several players who fired 71, one shot behind clubhouse leader, Hunter Van Veen of Des Moines Area Community College.

Also for the Hawks, Michael Bergquist and Conner Watson shot 74; Michael Brockhaus finished with 75 while Justin Bruntz had 77. The Hawks’ Alex Dredge, playing as an individual, shot a 78.

Day two of the tournament continues today at the Otter Creek Golf Club.
