Northeast Golfers Finish Third At Southeast Invite

BEATRICE – The Northeast Community College golf team finished third at the Southeast Community College Spring Invitational this week. The Hawks finished with a two-day total of 624 – five shots behind Doane College and two back of Southeast in the six team field. Matches were played Monday at the York County Club and on Tuesday at the Beatrice Country Club.

Northeast’s Preston Peters was sixth, with a two-day total of 155 – nine shots back of the medalist. Michael Brockhaus finished eighth with a 156, Michael Bergquist was ninth with 156, Justin Bruntz tied for tenth with two others players with a 159 and Conner Watson’s 161 placed him 13th.

The Hawks are on the road again this week. The team will take part in the Iowa Central Community College Invitational Thursday and Friday at the Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, IA.
