NORFOLK – Iowa Western Community College claimed team honors at the Northeast Community College Invitational at Fairplay Golf Course here. The Reivers shot a 297 at Sunday’s event.

The Midland University B team finished second with a 302. Northeast Community College took third place with a 306, followed by the Northeast B team with 314. Central Community College and Midland University finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Individually, Tyler Moore of Midland B took medalist honors after shooting a two-under 70. Alister Balcombe and Ross Martens of Iowa Western tied for second after both shot even par 72. Northeast’s Michael Brockhaus was fourth with a 73 while the Hawks’ Michael Bergquist and Preston Peters tied for fifth with 74.

Elsewhere for Northeast, Lucas Bradfield and Corby Forbes shot 76 while Dalton Lammers and Conner Watson finished with 79.

The Hawks golf team will be in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Southeast Community College Invitational. Day one will be held at the York Country Club while day two will be held at the Beatrice Country Club.
