Bradley Named NJCAA Player Of The Week

NORFOLK – A member of the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team has been named Division I Player of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Jalen Bradley, a 6′ 1″ guard from Norfolk, is averaging 32.5 points per game for the Hawks. He earned the honor after stellar performances over the past week, including a win over a nationally ranked team.
Last Saturday, Bradley led Northeast in scoring 42 points in a 134-128 overtime win over #9 Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA. 33 of his points came in the second half. Bradley also connected on five, three point shots and was 11-12 from the free throw line.
The previous week in a game against Marshalltown Community College, Bradley hit a three-point shot as time expired to seal the victory for the Hawks, 84-77. Seventeen of his 23 points came in the second half.
Meanwhile, the Hawks (19-4) will host Iowa Western Community College on Saturday in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The Northeast women’s basketball team will take on Iowa Western at 5 p.m.
