SOUTH SIOUX CITY – Residents of the Siouxland area have the opportunity to experience a festive afternoon celebrating the cultural diversity of the region.
Northeast Community College, South Sioux City Community Schools and the Northeast Community College Multicultural Club will sponsor a World of Fun carnival on Saturday, April 26, from 1-4 p.m. in the parking lot of the College Center, 1001 College Way, in South Sioux City.
“The carnival is a way to recognize the rich diversity in the South Sioux City area,” said Maria Gonzalez, an advisor/recruiter for Northeast Community College. “We hope people come out and enjoy the great free food and entertainment that will be part of the afternoon.”
Entertainment will include the Omaha Nation Tribal Dancers at 1 p.m.; Estrellas de Jalisco at 2 p.m.; New Horizon Band at 2:30 p.m.; Baptist Choir at 3 p.m.; and the Somali Community of Siouxland at 3:30 p.m.
Other activities include a cake walk, dunk tank, face painting, balloon animals, Shriner’s clowns, train rides, a photo booth, crafts, and a raffle for 81 pounds of ground beef.
Admission to World of Fun is free.
