NORFOLK – The Northeast Community Marketing Department has been recognized for a campaign observing the College’s 40th anniversary.
Northeast Community College has been recognized in the Collegiate Advertising Awards competition with a Gold Award for the 40th Anniversary in the special events category for schools with 2,000-5,000 students. The Collegiate Advertising Awards is an elite program designed to recognize today’s most talented educational marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in all forms of advertising, marketing and promotion at colleges and universities across the nation.
The department also earned a merit award in the 29th Education Advertising Awards for its total public relations campaign marking the anniversary. The awards are sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report.
The competition is an opportunity for a post-secondary institution to test its programs and campaigns against the best in the country. A panel of industry specialists reviewed each piece; judging creativity, marketing execution and message impact. There were 27 categories judged this year.
Jeanette Klitz, Northeast marketing coordinator, created the 40th anniversary campaign, which included a historical book, building and parking lot banners, print specialties, a Norfolk Daily News tab, open house invitations, clothing, and a parade float. Jennifer Greve is director of marketing at Northeast.
Other members of the Northeast 40th Anniversary Committee include: Julie Carlson, Dr. Robert Cox, Jim Curry, Carissa Kollath, Kim Kwapnioski, Janelle Gerharter, Corinne Morris, Diane Reikofski, Pam Saalfeld, and Connie Sixta.
Northeast Community College also received a Collegiate Advertising Awards Gold Award for its Student Viewbook.
