NORFOLK – Northeast Community College’s Chuck M. Pohlman Agriculture Complex in Norfolk was the site of the FFA District Livestock Judging Contest. 490 contestants from 36 schools participated in the recent event.

Mike Roeber, agriculture/livestock judging instructor at Northeast, said the team portion of the contest was set up slightly different this year as compared to past years; teams could have up to eight members, with the top four scores counted.

Individual and team results include:

District 2 Juniors

Individual: 1^st Trae Meysenburg, Osceola; 2^nd Lane Egger, Lakeview (Columbus). Team: 1^st Lakeview (Caleb Frenzen, Lane Egger, Austin Maurer, Layne Janssen, Trevor Schultz, Austin Foltz, Kaleb Lusche, and Kyle Grotelueschen. 2^nd Raymond Central (Hannah Settje, Nick Nelson, Josh Hornung, Jake Palensky, Courtney Potter, Frances Holley, and Sarah Bos).

District 2 Seniors

Individual: 1^st Tayler Gall, Leigh-Clarkson; 2^nd Tim Kummer, Lakeview (Columbus). Team: 1^st Howells-Dodge-Clarkson(Jacob Vogel, Alex Steffensmeier, Mitchell Brester, Elisia Vogel, and Elizabeth Sindelar). 2^nd Leigh-Clarkson (Hallee Held, Sheila Reichmuth, Nick Wendt, Riley Schroeder, Tayler Gall, Austin Bruhn, Kyle Kabes, and Jessi Sayers.

District 3 Juniors

Individual: 1^st Jackie Minarick, North Bend; Nic Taylor, Logan View. Team:  1^st Wisner-Pilger (Sydney Williams, Christina Sindelar, Jordan Fullner, Keeley Russman, Michael Borgelt, Logan Godbersen, Jesse Urwiler, and Ryan McBride). 2^nd North Bend (Jayton Frank, Nick Hines, Jackie Minarick, Ryan Kreikemeier, Taylor Harms, Miranda Dostal, Chris Dostal, and Mackenna Walla).

District 3 Seniors

Individual: 1^st Ryan Schroeder, Wisner-Pilger; 2^nd Hunter Schroeder, West Point. Team: 1^st West Point (Heath Schroeder, Hunter Schroeder, Chris Watterman, Dylan Slaughter, Taylor Brester-Pruss, Jeffrey Rogers, and Ronald Kramer). 2^nd Wisner-Pilger (Shaila Bennett, Dalton Mohlfeld, Chase Ott, Ryan Schroeder, Bryon Peterson, Derek Johnson, and Grant Godbersen.)

District 4 Junior

Individual:  1^st Garrett Alexander, Bloomfield; 2^nd Cauy Drobny, Verdigre. Team: 1^st Bloomfied (McGwire Mackesprang, Garrett Alexander, Devin Johnson, Leah Poppe, Cole Bruns, Kayla Kleinschmit, Karly Jensen, and Claire Vanness).  2^nd Verdigre( Shawn Sucha, Scjler Forman, Ben Johnson, Chase Ruzicka, Cauy Drobny, Madisen Randa, Clay Konopasek, and Haylee Klawitter).

District 4 Seniors

Individual: 1^st Garrett Heine from Hartington; 2^nd Bailee Porter, Norfolk. Team: 1^st Bloomfield (Trent Johnson, Kash Poppe, Jacob Johnson, Rachel Knox, Chantille Schmit, Cody Beckman, Travis Gillilan, and Austin Gillilan). 2^nd Hartington (of Ty Dybdal, Dillon Klug, Alex Fischer, Ty Becker, Jacob Dickes, Dustin Weinandt, Austin Koch and Garrett Heine).

The top 50-percent of the teams in the district contest qualified for the state competition, which will be held during the Nebraska FFA Convention in Lincoln in April.
