Kicking the nicotine habit is a challenge. Former smokers often say quitting with group support is the only way they stopped smoking for good. Northeast Community College is hosting a Freedom From Tobacco class that just might work for you. Sponsored by the American Lung Association along with instructors from Norfolk’s Faith Regional, the program runs Tuesday evenings from January 28th to March 18th. Topics such as Winning Strategies, Staying Off and Thinking About Quitting will focus on the triggers, slips and relapses that have derailed your previous efforts to quit.
The cost is $100 but you may be able to get a reimbursement for taking the classes so call 402-844-7176 for complete details. The weekly, hour long classes begin Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast Campus. The program is for staff, faculty and students ahead of the campus wide ban on tobacco and nicotine as of August, 2014.
