NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team improved to 10-3 after beating Southeast Community College here Tuesday, 94-68.
The Hawks never trailed in the contest and led by 12 points at halftime. As a team, Northeast shot a season best 80 percent from the free throw line, netting 28.
Jabbar Washington led the Hawks in scoring for a third straight game with 21 points. Khapri Alston recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Elsewhere for Northeast, Buay Tuach finished with 17 points and Sheed Fairley had 11. Lyle Hexom led the team in rebounds with 14 and Anthony Woods dished out nine assists.
The Hawks will be in action next this Friday as it takes on the host team in the Hutchinson Community College Classic in Hutchinson, KS. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
