NORTH PLATTE – Emily Gamble scored 19 points, including four, three point shots, to lead Northeast Community College over North Platte Community College (NPCC) in a women’s basketball contest here Tuesday night. The Hawks improve to 8-0 on the season after the 68-47 win.
Northeast led by 28 points (52-24) at one point in the second half.
“We were not anything special tonight, but we got the job done,” said Matt Svehla, Northeast coach. “Our shooting was a bit inconsistent and we just did not seem to have our normal energy.”
Also for the Hawks, Yasmin Miller scored eleven points, Ena Viso finished with nine, Lexi Murphy had seven, and Debinique Knowles, Megan Trinder, and Amelia Allington scored four points each. NPCC was led by DaVontaye Merritt with 17 points.
Northeast will be back home on Friday as it entertains Kirkwood Community College at the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
