NORFOLK – Lyle Hexom led five starting Northeast Community College players scoring in double figures in a 105-74 men’s basketball win Wednesday night over ABCP Prep of Urbandale, IA, at the Cox Activities Center.
Hexom finished with 26 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots. The Hawks’ Jabbar Washington poured in 23 points; Kyle Kilgore and Sheed Fairley finished with eleven points each; and Buay Tuach scored ten. Chima Moneke scored 17 points off the bench.
Northeast took a 49-37 halftime lead and never looked back in the contest. As a team, the Hawks shot 54 percent from the field and out rebounded ABCP Prep 51-41.
Northeast is now 5-2 on the year, winning five games in a row.
The Hawks will take on Mineral Area Community College on Friday, November 29th. The game will be played in Burlington, Iowa as part of the Southeastern Community College Thanksgiving Classic. Northeast will face Lincoln College on November, 30th.
