NORFOLK – Northeast Nebraskans will soon be able to get into the seasonal mood as the Northeast Community College music department hosts its annual Holiday Concert.
The event will be held Sunday, December 8th at 2 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk campus.
The Northeast College Community Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Randall Neuharth, director of instrumental music activities, will perform. The Northeast Concert Choir, Men’s Ensemble, Women’s Ensemble, and Ebony and Crimson, under the direction of Dr. Linda Boullion, department chair and director of choral music activities, will also perform. Margaret Schultz is accompanist for the vocal groups.
Dr. Neuharth’s Community Concert Band will perform “A Christmas Festival,” by Leroy Anderson; “Fantasia for Christmas,” by Elliot Del Borgo; “Ancient Carol Variants,” arranged by Chris Bernotas: and “Cowboy Christmas,” arranged by Jeff Simmons.
Vocal selections by Dr. Boullion’s groups will include ”Winter’s Heart,” by Mark Hayes; “Silent Night,” arranged by Darmon Meader; “What Sweeter Music,” by John Leavitt; “We Need a Little Christmas,” arranged by Mark Hayes; “Stars I Shall Find,” by Victor Johnson; and “Here We Come A-Wassailing,” arranged Dave and Jean Perry.
The December 8th concert is free and open to the public.
