"AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: JFK" _ The bulk of this month's John F. Kennedy-themed programs mostly recall and dissect the circumstances surrounding his assassination. This rich, two-part portrait instead focuses on the life and legacy of the 35th president, beginning with his childhood years. The film also re-evaluates JFK's strengths and weaknesses in the Oval Office and provides fresh insights into his private life. Among those interviewed are scholars, journalists, relatives and members of his administration. 9 p.m. Monday, PBS.

SUNDAY: Rob Lowe plays the ill-fated president and Ginnifer Goodwin the grief-stricken first lady in "Killing Kennedy." It's a TV film based on the best-selling book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard. 8 p.m., National Geographic Channel.
SUNDAY: Many tween viewers are surely super bummed that "Shake It Up" finishes off its successful run tonight. The good news? The finale features new music from series star, Zendaya. 9 p.m., Disney Channel.
MONDAY: "Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1" is a sobering documentary that introduces viewers to trained responders who take calls from military vets struggling with PTSD, depression, addiction and suicidal thoughts. 9 p.m., HBO.
TUESDAY: The danger just keeps mounting on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Tonight, Coulson (Clark Gregg) works to save Ward and Fitz (Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker) during a risky Level 8 classified mission. 8 p.m., ABC.
WEDNESDAY: On "Modern Family," Phil and Claire (Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen) are planning surprises for each other for their 20th anniversary. Yes, their hearts are in the right place, but you just know they'll screw it up. 9 p.m., ABC.
WEDNESDAY: "Secrets of the Dead" opens a new season with "JFK: One PM Central Standard Time." It's a minute-by-minute look at how journalists covered the shooting of Kennedy 50 years ago. 10 p.m., PBS.
THURSDAY: The new sitcom, "Ground Floor," follows what happens when a hotshot banker (Skylar Astin), who thought he was having just a one-night stand with a partygoer (Briga Heelan), discovers that she works in the bank's maintenance department. Oops. 10 p.m., TBS.
FRIDAY: It's "Miley's Sexy Night Out" on "Styled to Rock" as the designers are challenged to create a sultry club look for headline-grabbing singer Miley Cyrus. Let's hope no giant foam fingers are involved. 8 p.m., Bravo.
FRIDAY: Jeffrey Tambor ("Arrested Development") drops in on the zany Season 4 premiere of "Raising Hope." He plays a mysterious figure who, for some reason, keeps popping up in the Chance family's lives. 9 p.m., Fox.
SATURDAY: Mike Tyson and Spike Lee bring their one-man stage show to TV with "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth." It's a raw and powerful production that has the former heavyweight champ opening up about his troubled youth, extraordinary career, prison time, controversies, family life and new beginnings. 8 p.m., HBO.
