ESTHERVILLE, IA – The Northeast Community College volleyball team had a balanced attack in a four set victory Thursday over Iowa Lake Community College here.
Nazya Thies had 22 kills while teammates Brittany Sullivan and Grace Ecklund finished with eleven and ten kills respectively, in the 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23 victory. The Hawks are now 14-18 in their first season of play.
Also for Northeast, Maggie Earney recorded 45 assists and 14 digs; Haley Roelle finished with 16 digs; Sullivan had 22 digs and two ace serves; Ecklund had three solo and three assist blocks; and Thies had one solo and two assist blocks.
Northeast has three more regular season matches on its schedule, which will all be played at the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. That includes tonight, as the Hawks host Central Community College-Columbus at 7 p.m. The remaining matches include Southeast Community College on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Des Moines Area Community College on Wednesday, October 30, at 7 p.m.
