NORFOLK – The #15 Northeast Community College golf team finished in seventh place at the Nebraska Intercollegiate golf tournament. The event was held Friday and Saturday at the Norfolk Country Club.
The University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK) won the tournament with a two-day score of 583. Hastings College was second with a 605. Other team scores: Midland University (624); Doane College (626); Southeast Community College (634); Northeast Community College (635); Concordia University (646); Midland University B (668); and Northeast Community College B (688).
Individually, first day leader Lance Lawson of UNK tied with teammate Konnor Oltman to take medalist honors after finishing with 141. Cody Vance of Hastings College and Max Rudder of UNK followed with 148.
Alex Dredge of Northeast Community finished seventh with a 151. He was third following action on day one. Elsewhere for Northeast Community College, Michael Bergquist fired a 158; Connor Watson and Justin Bruntz shot 164; and Trevor Miller had a 168.
For the Northeast B team, Justin Mlnarik shot a 165; Mike Smith and Brandon Schmidt finished with 171; Mitchell Smith had a 184; and Corby Forbes shot a 187. Also for Northeast, Dustin Vinson fired a 181 and Trae Deeder a 191.
