NORFOLK – Northeast Community College instrumental music and vocal groups will open their 2013-14 season with a fall concert.
The concert will be held Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. in the Cox Activities Center Theatre. It will feature selections by the Northeast College/Community Concert Band, Concert Choir, Women’s and Men’s Ensembles, and Ebony and Crimson. The concert is free and open to the public.
With Dr. Randall Neuharth as director, the Northeast College/Community Concert Band will perform “The Fairest of the Fair,” by John Philip Sousa, “Appalachian Expedition,” by Chris Bernotas, “American Riversongs,” by Pierre La Plante, and “Instant Concert,” by Harold Walters.
Vocal selections, directed by Dr. Linda Boullion, department chair and director of vocal music activities, will include “With a Voice of Singing,” by Martin Shaw, “Look to This Day, For It Is Life,” by Greg Gilpin, “Come to Me, O My Love,” by Allan Robert Petker, and “The Long Sea,” by Vicki Tucker Courtney.
