The Northeast Community College golf team is in sixth place after day one of the Midland University Invitational in Fremont.
The Hawks shot a team total of 340. Iowa Western Community College has the lead in the nine team field after shooting a 299 at the
Fremont Country Club.
Individually, Jose Pelayo of Iowa Western is in the lead with a one under, 70. Three other players are tied for second with 75.
Northeast has two players in the top 20. Kenny Kuchar is tied for 18th with an 81. Trent Peterson is tied for 20th after shooting
an 82. Elsewhere for the Hawks on Monday, Brandon Schmidt shot an 88; Tommy Ruzek had an 89; and Mike Smith finished
the day with a 97.
Day two of the tournament on Tuesday will be played at The Pines Country Club in Valley.
