Relay For Life will be holding the 4th Annual Bark for Life Pet Walk at the Northeast Community College Ag Complex on April 20. Pet owners are encouraged to register their pets by April 4.
The event is a 1K or 2K walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The Northeast Fighting Hawks Relay for Life Team will be organizing the Pet Walk with help from the Veterinary Technology students from Northeast. Information booths set up by the students will provide information to pet owners about canine diabetes, cancers, dental health, and many other topics of interest.
“Registering your pet by April 4 will also get people a goodie bag for your pet,” says Doris Holmquist, one of the organizers for the event. Registration is only $20 for one pet and $15 for any additional pets you want to bring.
You are also required to bring your pet’s Proof of Rabies Vaccination Certificate to be able to register your pet.
At the event there will be a speaker from Paws Up! of Certified Therapy Dogs Inc. to speak to all the pet owners about the benefit of therapy dogs to society and contests, such as Biggest Dog and a Look-a-Like contest for pets and their owners.
