March 4th marks the start of Winter Break at Northeast Community College and the students are getting ready.
On February 27th from 2-3 p.m., students could visit Room 208 in the Student Center and create a “Spring Break Emergency Kit” during the Spring Break Kick-Off Party.
Members of the Student Activities Council and Healthy Hawks manned tables providing everything the students might need to stay safe over spring break, for example: male and females condoms, sunscreen, chap-stick, mini-first aid kit, shampoo and conditioner.
Nurse Gretchen Hupp was there, informing students that she’s available to those who are felling under the weather, as well as providing free STD testing.
Students could make a pledge saying they wouldn’t drink and drive or allow their friends to either. The also received a card telling how many drinks is safe for their individual gender and weight.
