On February 20, at about 11:31 a.m. Norfolk Police were informed of four homemade “pop-bottle” bombs near the dorms at Northeast Community College.
When police arrived on the scene, it was discovered that three of the bombs had exploded the night before. The last bomb that had not exploded was in a larger 2-liter bottle.
Parts of campus was placed under lockdown while police were investigating the threat, but the lockdown was lifted approximately 15 minutes later.
According to Norfolk Police Divison, Reid W. Alden, 18, of Norfolk was cited for Possession of a Destructive Device.
No injuries or damage was reported.
