On Feb 11, MTV’s ‘Buckwild’ cast member Salwa Amin was arrested on drug charges in West Virginia, after the twenty-four-year-old was allegedly found in a shed with a purse full of oxycodone pills.
Police said there was a male with a large amount of cash, and a separate bag of heroin and pills found inside the shed, as well.
According to Fox News, Amin was arraigned in Nicholas County Magistrate Court on felony charges. She is facing two charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and is being held on a $200,000 bond at the Central Region Jail in West Virginia. No comments have been made from Amin, as it appears she does not want to talk to the media.
MTV’s ‘Buckwild’ became an instant success when it aired earlier this year. MTV was looking for another reality show to take over after Jersey Shore’s last season. ‘Buckwild’ has the same concept, only it features young and wild West Virginians.
The show has been criticized for portraying the state’s youth in a negative way, as the cast members just want to have fun and seem to not have much regard for the consequences. Their motto of “What happens happens,” says it all.
Despite all the criticism, MTV has picked it up for a second season, and according to Fox news, MTV Spokeswoman Candace Ashton says the network doesn’t have any comments concerning the recent events.
