A new Learning Center building is has been planned out for the Northeast Community College campus in O’Neill. Construction is scheduled to start in 2015.
The O’Neill campus serves the town of O’Neill and the communities surrounding it; an update in technology for the students was seen as necessary to further educate the students.
The building currently in use by their campus is leased from the O’Neill Public Schools. A fundraising campaign will be scheduled to raise the necessary funds for the construction of the new one-story facility.
“We are looking to get the two and a half million dollars through fundraising,” said Executive Vice President Connie Suckstorf.
Courses available will most likely remain the same: general studies, computer, nursing, agriculture and distant learning classes.
