Have you ever been over-seas? Have you ever been outside of the United States?
If you haven’t and don’t know the beauty that lies beyond out borders, do something about it. Register to go on the Northeast Community College Spanish Trip.
Students and faculty will be traveling to Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Grenada, Córdoba. They will even get to see some famous sights such as the Alhambra Islamic Palace in Grenada, Cathedrals, and even the “Museo del Prado,” the primary Spanish art museum.
In Spain the drinking and purchasing age of Alcoholic beverages is 18. As wines and other spirits are part of the culture, it is okay for students whom reach the age requirement to partake in this little pleasure. However, it is strongly recommended that students still make wise decisions about drinking on the trip, as they could very easily be sent home.
Requirements for this trip include: taking Castilian Spanish and Culture class, and a $300 nonrefundable deposit including monthly payments up to the total cost of $3,400.
This cost includes airline, guides, housing, a scheduled breakfast. Food will only be scheduled for breakfast and it is recommended that students bring money to sample the cuisine at different locations throughout the day, as a scheduled dinner would potentially upset exploration.
This is the second travel abroad trip available here at Northeast. The first was last year, when many students traveled to England and France. Northeast is trying to become a “world class community college” with trips hopefully becoming a yearly event.
If you would like more information, or just to talk to the person in charge of the trip, contact Wendy Swenson, Spanish Instructor, in room 244 in the Agricultural Allied Health building.
