Recently I had lost my faith in today’s so called “scary movies”. Either they had horrid graphics, bad actors, or just a terrible plot. “The Possession” has the best of all three.
I usually turn my nose up at movies about possession by demons, but the sheer creepiness of the commercials had me rather intrigued.
The main plot was about a container holding a demon, called Dybbuk box, and its control over a helpless little girl.
The Dybbuk box was bought at a garage sale for the girl by her father. They were unable to open it originally, but after much tinkering the girl managed to open it, releasing the evil spirit.
The film was gripping and wildly frightening from beginning to end. I speculate several armrests were inadvertently torn from many chairs.
According to the I.M.D.B. “The Possession” was released to theater August 31st and has since made an estimated $21,300,000 in the box office.
I hope more people will go to see this great movie and enjoy it as much as I did.
