There was a sight to see today, the parking lots were filled with excited vistors to see one thing: the graduates of 2012.
Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE celebrated the graduates of 2012, the 39th annual commencement was held early Saturday Morning. Graduates walked at 10:30 a.m and the commencement was accompanied by the Touch of Brass.
The graduates joined 20, 875 alumni that have already had the journey at NECC.
The speakers included President Chips who welcomed the graduates. Curt Frye, President of Wayne State College was the commencement address and talked of the future. Anthony Beardslee gave the message from the faculty to the class of 2012 where he talked of the importance of the diploma that they were going to receive.
The presentation of the candidates ranged from 28 different degrees at NECC. Honors students added either white (3.75-3.99 GPA) or yellow (4.0 GPA) chords to their gowns. Young men and women apart of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society, wore gold stoles to show membership.
After receiving their diplomas the graduates only had one thing to finish, moving over their tassels from the right to the left, showing that their journey was finished at Northeast.
