As many are aware, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. If you find yourself single this year, try looking for love in these 5 cities.
Austin
Not only does this city have a rocking music scene but a dating scene also. Singles make up for more than half of the local population, largely because of the University of Texas campus. To find the “one”, try a night at one of the 200 live-music venues or hit up the nightlife in the Warehouse District or on Sixth Street. Along with great music, there is year-round sunshine and the great outdoors. Take a dip at Barton Springs Pool or biking the Greenbelt.
Boston
This city is known for higher education, home for Harvard and MIT. Boston is plum full of undergrad and post-grad singles looking to pair off. Grab a date and head out on the town for the pub scene. Try the historic Bell in Hand Tavern. If you’re more of a sports fan, don’t miss your chance to go to a Red Sox game at Fenway. If you prefer the outdoors, wander your way around Harborwalk or the Charles River Esplanade. When hunger strikes, check out the romantic Italian restaurants in the North End neighborhood, like Trattoria di Monica, or the historic Quincy Market.
Miami
Miami is known for it’s sun-kissed beaches and sexy locals who are known for showing off teeny, tiny bikinis and their hunky, swim trunk bodies. The sizzling nightlife scene is infused by Latin flavors while the beachfront calls for the active types who like to jog or rollerblade under the sun. If you’re looking for the perfect tropical date, simply having fun in the waters off of the many white-sanded beaches or enjoying the sunset are ideal.
San Francisco
Known as California’s cultural capital. It’s the hub for diverse, creative singles. Museums, art galleries, dining, nightlife and cafes are among the best scenes. The stunning waterfront setting, misty weather and iconic Golden Gate Bridge make up the picture-perfect scene for romance. These are all best admired while strolling along the coastline or taking a sunset catamaran cruises on the bay.
Seattle
Starbucks was born in this city so it’s probable that there is a coffeehouse on practically every corner. You’re bound to find a cappuccino-fueled romance here. Or, if Dionysus-inspired dating is more you, romantic wine bars and tasting rooms are excellent places to taste Washington’s top-rate wines and such. For a savory outing, sample local flavors at the food stalls, fish vendors and eateries of the Pike Place Market. Or, investigate Seattle’s natural setting with an outing to the Cascade or Olympic Mountains. Also check out the city’s bounteous lakes and scenic waterfront. Top of your night with a bird’s-eye view atop the city’s iconic Space Needle.
