There’s a new attraction coming to Northeast Community College. The game room in the Student Activity center has been redone and revamped. The new game center, which is now located across from the Hawks Landing, has new activities, such as a pinball machine, an air hockey table, and an arcade machine.
The space that was previously used as the child care was made into the new game room, per request of students. The game room, which has been in other areas previously, such as where the Hawks landing is and the previous area. Along with the new games that have been added, there are plans to add flat screen televisions and a sound system where students will be able hook up their iPods’s and listen to their music. As of now the plain black wall that is next to the pool tables most likely going to be painted. “I am speaking with the graphic design instructor and some students about adding some color pop to the walls.” said Carrisa Kollath, Student Activities Coordinator, about the ever advancing work on the game room.
The area that used to be the game room will not go to waste. The rooms will soon be transformed into a lounge area, so that students will have a place to hang out. Kollath, plans on having a flat panel TV and more comfortable seating.
