Northeast Community College to host 17th annual Spooktacular children’s carnival

Special to the Viewpoint

NORFOLK – A number of Northeast Community College students are preparing to entertain area children next week during the 17th Annual “Spooktacular” children’s carnival.

The event will be held Wednesday, October 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Chuck M. Pohlman Agriculture Complex, located one mile east of campus at the intersection of Highway 35 and Benjamin Avenue in Norfolk. Last year over 2,100 people attended the event.

“Spooktacular” is sponsored by the Northeast Community College Student Ambassadors and Student Activities Council. Student clubs will host booths with over two dozen games, as well as prizes, candy and other activities to entertain children. Games will require tickets, which can be purchased at the price of four for $1.00 before entering the carnival. All proceeds will go to student organizations.

Booths and activities will include a petting zoo, a fishing game, a duck pool, pumpkin toss, putt putt golf, pumpkin bowling, cake walk and more. There will also be a children’s haunted house.

The public is invited to enjoy this family event at Northeast Community College. Children are also encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to “Spooktacular.”
