Northeast volleyball cripples Ellsworth at home

NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College volleyball had its way with Ellsworth Community College on Wednesday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

 

Set scores were: 25-7, 25-13 and 25-11.

 

From start to finish, the Hawks (8-6, 3-0 ICCAC) used their powerful offensive attack to keep the Panthers from gaining any momentum. Northeast hit over the .290 mark in each set and ultimately hit .342 on the night.

 

Elley Beaver (Columbus, Neb.) and Briana Bauer (O’Neill, Neb.) each had six kills, while Josie Sanger (Crofton, Neb.) had 13 digs. Jamie Bonifas (Blue Hill, Neb.) added 25 assists and 10 digs.

 

Northeast steps out of conference play to compete in the KCKCC Tournament on Friday. The Hawks will face Neosho Community College at 2 p.m. and Cowley County Community College at 6 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
