WILBER– Prosecutors are trying to prevent a convicted killer from getting a new trial.  The Omaha World-Herald reports that Michael Guinan of the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office told a judge yesterday that Aubrey Trail does not deserve a new trial.  Guinan says Trail staged a suicide attempt during his murder trial in June for the ratings or because he was aiming for a mistrial.  Trail was found guilty of first-degree murder in the November 2017 killing and dismemberment of Lincoln store clerk Sydney Loofe, and he could be sentenced to death or life in prison.
