On Thursday August 23 from 3pm-4pm students eagerly lined up, in what some called a disorganized, jumbled mess, for The Root-Beer Kegger.
The event was coordinated by Carissa Kollath, and the Northeast Community College Student Activities Council (SAC). The Root-Beer Kegger provided students with an opportunity to learn about and get involved with the different clubs and organizations on campus.
There were 13 groups involved, including “The Young Democrats”, a new organization on campus this year.
Over 125 students attended, a vast majority motivated by the free T-Shirt given to the first 100 students and the provided root-beer floats. Three gallons of ice-cream and a full keg of root beer were quickly used up.
Kollath said she “Enjoyed watching new and old students getting involved and hopefully finding one or more groups to become a part of.”
