Galterio named First Team All-Region; three others earn All-Region status

NORFOLK, Neb. – Sophomore Victor Galterio was the go-to scoring threat for the Northeast Community College men’s soccer team this season. For his efforts, he was named to the First Team All-Region team, it was announce by the conference on Monday.

 

The Pedreira, Sao Paulo, Brazil, native started in all 15 games for the Hawks, while tallying seven goals in his final year with the program. Galterio also ranked No. 23 in the NJCAA in game-winning goals with four.

 

Earning Second Team All-Region honors was goalie Massimiliano Simonazzi. The sophomore started in every game and finished with 74 saves He logged 1,313 minutes in the net for the Hawks this season.

 

Felipe Guilherme and Yuri Rocha were named to the Honorable Mention All-Region team as first-year members of the Northeast men’s soccer squad. Guilherme started in 12 games as a freshman, recording three goals and three assists. Rocha started in 13 games for head coach Chad Miller and logged five assists.

 

The Hawks end their season with a 5-10 overall record and a 4-6 record in conference play.
